About the Artist

I am a lifelong animal lover and drawing enthusiast originally from the north west of England. As a quiet child and aspiring horse-girl, I spent many hours with "Draw 50 horses" by Lee J. Ames and was always gifted coloured pencils for birthdays - I have been drawing for as long as I can remember.

The first pet portraits I did were, of course, of my own family pets, and I have learnt over the years how to render fur, noses and eyes on paper so that they look truly lifelike. Of course I am still learning and improving with every portrait!

After not drawing for a few years while I completed my degree, my husband asked that I draw a memorial portrait of his family cat Felix, and I've been doing occasional commissions ever since.

This last year has been full of change for me - I am now based just south of Brussels in Belgium and have time to pursue my art more professionally. This new website is my first go at making that a reality! If you or someone you know would like a commission, please do get in touch - I'm running out of family pets to draw!
